Doc Review

This documentary is about Derek Jeter on his way having 3,000 career hits and it shows his journey on how he got there and the roadblocks that were thrown in his way that he had to overcome. His ultimate goal was to get his 3000th hit at Yankee Stadium which he mentions throughout the movie.

The movie itself was very good at hooking you into watching because I am not a huge baseball fan but I really enjoyed wactching it and I think a big part of that was the music choice was so good in certain parts and also the B role was used very well. It wasn't just Jeter playing baseball every shot of B role portrayed an emotion or relevance in some way to what he was talking about at the moment. One thing I learned is that B role and music choice is a very important piece in engaging the viewer because know one just wants to watch a movie of Jeter in a chair talking for an hour.

I would recommend this film to any baseball fans or people who enjoy sports no matter what team they may support. Yes, Jeter plays for the Yankees and some people would look at this and say "I don't like the Yankees" so they don't watch it but if you respect certain players by the feats they have accomplished like something that very few people have accomplished than this is a film for you. It is also a big part of baseballs history so getting to watch and relive some incredible moments of the sport you love is always enjoyable especially when it is very in depth and you learn about the struggles and the roadblocks that you might not have known about that really put the viewer on edge even though the majority of the time they know the outcome.

So overall this film was a very good film to watch and a great film to learn how to putting good B role and music can change the mood of a film and can really engage the viewer to keep them watching and also if you love baseball than this a great film to watch no matter what team you support because players like Jeter don't come around to often and getting to relive these moments is always great.

My experience with this news story was great, but there was some things that made it difficult to shoot like, finding a spot to film, dealing with natural lighting in the library, and also making time for certain people that we were trying to interview on their own time which took a day or two because we had no one to interview which was always tough.

We used a bouncer in the library to block out some of the natural lighting.
